Even the most successful among us face challenges related to daily living.  When loss and change occur, or when we experience our challenges more as struggles preventing our happiness, relational and life satisfaction, therapy can be a source of help.  I welcome the opportunity to assist you in identifying and better understanding your feelings, thoughts, and choices, in the hope that together we may work to restore your sense of well-being.

I view therapy as a collaborative process in which establishment of a strong, trusting, non-judgmental relationship between us will lead to your greatest benefit. It is important to me to provide you with an open, safe, supportive environment in which to express and explore your deepest concerns. I value your individuality and recognize that we each are influenced by our personal histories and lived experiences in unique ways.  In our work together, we will consider how your significant relationships and experiences have led you to become the person you are, responding and interacting with others as you do, as well as whether and in what ways you may wish to envision changing and growth.

I received my training at Christian Theological Seminary, graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  My training focused on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory and perspectives.  My theoretical orientation is intersubjective and relational, and incorporates object relations and attachment theory.
My special interests and clinical expertise include but are not limited to assisting individuals, couples and groups with:
  • personal crisis management
  • grief and loss
  • depression and anxiety
  • life transition adjustment
  • relationship concerns
  • life review and aging
  • addictive behaviors
  • wellness, life-limiting illness and disability
  • creative expression
  • self-esteem and self-perception.
