Krysta Winters
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in both Indiana and Illinois with over 18 years of experience working with individuals and families. I have practiced many of those years in the Chicagoland area of Illinois and have experience as an expat who used to live in Barcelona, Spain. I appreciate how culture, family, and personality all influence how we cope with stressors in life.
I have extensive experience with individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, anxiety, OCD, grief, and depression. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) awarded by the international association of eating disorder profressionals (iaedp) where I was an executive committee member of the Heartland iaedp chapter when I lived in the Chicagoland area. I have been an adjunct professor at Wheaton College and taught in many of their graduate programs including their PsyD, MA in clinical psychology and their Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy programs. I was honored to serve as the President of the Eating Disorder Task Force of Indiana in 2022. I use an interpersonal approach to therapy, blending it with a variety of therapeutic perspectives and evidence-based techniques that are tailored for each person based on what they need. I tend to focus on the importance of developing flexibility and resiliency in the face of struggle and will work with people to emphasize their strengths and to learn skills in order to better cope with adversity.
